Sleep Architect November 2007

Sleep Architect started out as The Ethereal Union with the talents of Cameren Dale, Jared Christianson, Chance Strickland, & Brandon Aguilar. Brandon decided to leave the band and Eric Cohen and Jean Taylor joined up in November 2007.  Together they plan to create a euphoric, profound exploration of all things exquisite and glorious.  The sound they will craft will take you into a world where music reigns supreme, the plight of the everyday world will melt away as their harmonious indulgences will wash upon all who wish to absorb it.

Chance Strickland:

Chance, almost 21, started playing guitar at about 8 years old.  He is now an accomplished guitar player and has a range from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eddie Van Halen, Darrell Abbott, and beyond.  He is also a talented songwriter & lyricist composing the songs for Arkaik with the help of Jared.  He owns & plays a Gibson Explorer, an Ibanez 7 string, and 2 Jackson guitars, plus an acoustic/electric.  He is attending MSJC in Menifee, CA. and eventually plans to focus on music production and recording. He also plans to get his degree and eventually becoming a teacher.  The Ethereal Union started as a side project and is now expanding to a full-fledged endeavor, thus the name change.

Jared Christianson:

Jared has always been musically inclined, so at the age of 10 he got his first guitar.  He started out with punk and played guitar on and off until he met Chance Strickland in sixth grade.  "He got me into the heavy music of that time like Korn and Deftones."  They played guitar side by side for few years and then met their first drummer for Arkaik.  He started playing guitar for Arkaik, which lasted for a while until he felt the need to take over on vocals.  He sang vocals and played guitar or bass for a few months then decided to focus on being a vocalist.  After 3 undedicated drummers fell through, he made his biggest musical decision - that was to play drums.   He plans to master the drums as he has done with his other instruments. He will continue with drums for Sleep Architect while focusing on vocals for Arkaik.   The Ethereal Union started as a side project and is now expanding to a full-fledged endeavor.

Cameren Dale:

Cameren was influenced by all kinds’ music from an early age.  He moved from Texas back to his home state, California.  This was where he took his personal love of music to the next level and began singing, taking from his past experience of his days in choir.  Later on he recorded a few songs at an acquaintances’ home studio.  This CD fell into the hands of two local musicians looking for a singer for their band.  He came over and practiced once and everything fell into place.

Eric Cohen

I started playing bass at the age of 15 as a sophomore in high school.  My friend had a guitar and he said get a bass….so I did.  A lot of people I grew up with went through a punk stage, not me.  Straight metal.  Korn was probably my major influence.  They made me want to play bass.  From there it went to Mudvayne and Tool.  I started a nu-metal band with a name that was never official.  That lasted around 3 months.  Somewhere during the time of not being in a band I got into really heavy metal.  I started listening to Chimaira, Lamb of God, then Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation and Decapitated.  I was in a band called Neck Deep.  The whole band was stoners so the music was really slow, so I left that atrocity.  I then joined a band called Anachronism, an old-school death metal band from Riverside.  Then at the showcase in Corona one night I heard someone say they needed a bass player.  After playing with Arkaik for quite a while I decided to join Chance & Jared's other band, Sleep Architect to create another type of music which we hope will be a creation of our own.
